Websites are not just bits of information floating in space.

It may seem a bit of a mystery when you want to have a faux painting website of to represent your business.  Where does the information you want to show your potential clients live

All websites live inside a server… which is just a very fancy computer.  You could have your own server sitting at home and host a website yourself. This is not recommended… even for the most technically proficient.

Your website should be placed with a company that provides the hosting service for you.  It is very inexpensive and the company has all the challenges of keeping the servers in good working order.

A hosting company should provide:

  • 24 hour Support by email
  • Over 200 GB of Storage (you will have lots of pictures)
  • Over 3000 GB of Bandwidth ( this is so all your clients can see those pictures)
  • Statistics available - So you how your website visitors found your site.
  • 7 Day a week Telephone Support
  • C-Panel - this is an online control panel that lets you control every thing about your website at all times.  This is not something every web hosting company has.
  • Proven "up" time should be at least 98% - You want your site "live" at all times.
  • Absolutely perfect backup system.  All good website hosting companies should have redundant back up plans in place and have never had a failure.
  • A good plan for hosting your faux painting website should never cost more than $8 per month.

The plan I use even provides a free Domain Name and Set Up with their plan.

LunarPages.com  has a 1 month guarantee, so if you're not happy you can cancel and get your money back!  What have you got to loose?

Faux Painting WebsiteWhy do you need a website?  Faux Painting Business owners often overlook the obvious in marketing their business

Many prospective clients aren't ready to call you directly.  They have seen your work in one place or heard of you through other clients, but a client needs to trust you and your work.

Think about how you feel when hiring a professional to work in your home.  Do you go to the yellow pages and pick the first plumber or tile installer in the list?  I avoid the yellow pages, and get my recommendations from friends and neighbors.  I want to find out if the work was done well and on time.  Always go and look at  work the professional has finished and look for imperfections or unfinished areas.

Now… what if that professional had a website with pictures of finished jobs and testimonials from happy customers? Wouldn't that be easier to look for quality and versatility from this pro?  The website would show off all this companies talents, and you will see work they have completed that you may not have known they could install?

But… you might be thinking 'isn't it hard to learn how to build a website and isn't it expensive?’  You are so wrong if you think along those lines.  A website is easy to set up and maintain and the expense isn't high especially if you offset the cost with the increased income.

I started my first website a few years ago… and quickly learned it was -in fact- a boring… tedious job.  I picked the wrong topic, the wrong hosting company and many other wrongs.   My biggest mistake was - NOT using a Blog - for my website format.

Have you heard of a blog or blogging?  Do you think it is for kids to write to their friends?  Do you think it's a fad and not professional?  Wrong again.  It is the easiest way to build a professional looking website on the planet, well… unless you hire someone to do it for you.

Blogs are just a - content management system - that lets you design a website that is easy to control and update.  The blogging system I prefer is Wordpress.  The teacher I used to instruct me on setting up my first Wordpress Blog is  GobalaKrishnan.com

I didn't have Gobala as a personal coach, but I joined his Wordpress System.  This system is for anyone who wants to set up Wordpress Blogs.  He has a step by step, hand holding approach in his blogging tutorials.  Learn at your own speed and help is just a few clicks away.  Honest… he does a great job of getting you started with your first professional website.

Gobala Krishnan is the author of the best-selling "Wordpress Adsense System" and also a blogging specialist.

How do you get clients motivated to call you for a consultation?  Do you have a website to showcase your artistic talents?  Prospective clients will find your website interesting to look at… viewing all your pictures and reading about you and your art but how do you get them to contact you?

You've got to have a great Landing Page or Sales Letter on your website.

The problem I had was learning to write great copy for my visitors that got them excited about me and wanting to have your art in their home.

Then I stumbled upon this great book about Landing Pages.  These are pages on your website that you send prospective clients too with your marketing and advertising.

Landing Pages are full of testimonials about you and your work.  They expain to prospects just exactly who you are and what you can do for them.  The wording and format is important.  You must "ramp up" the reader to such an excited level that they can't wait to contact you.

The book is written so well and has so much information that it will feel like the author is sitting right beside you telling you exactly what to do next.  Every thing is broken down into simple, manageable sections.  You will never feel overwhelmed

And when you're done with the book, following along with each step…. you will have a fantastic web page that will sell YOU!

The author of this book is a very nice man, Mark Widawer, and he isn't a guru or someone who doesn't know his stuff either.  Mark is just plain old Mark… and he has helped hundreds of clients grow their websites into CASH Machines!

You can check out my first Landing Page at FauxFinishHowTo.com.  I would show you what I had on the website before he helped me create this beautiful page, but I am embarassed to reveal my lack of knowledge at that time.

Click on this link and check out all his information Mark Widawers Landing Page Cash Machine.  Hey, it's free to look at the page… what are you waiting for?
